The Olympic flame was taken to Priobskoye Oil Field in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region. The huge filed – operated by Russia’s energy giant Gazprom-Neft – was discovered in 1982 and has estimated reserves of over 620 million tons of oil.

Five of the best workers out of 7,000 staff at the Priobskoye Oil Field were selected to carry the torch through the facility’s territory; two of them used Russian off-roaders to carry the Olympic flame.
