The Russian Olympic Team Fans House will open in Sochi on February 6, becoming the first project of its kind in the history of the Games. Organizers are preparing a list of events for fans, from meet and greets with athletes to amateur tournaments.
Never before in any Olympic Games have supporters been offered their own house at the event. Located at the very center of the Sochi Olympic park, the house is aimed at providing Team Russia fans with a great atmosphere and experience.
The house will be open for guests throughout the Games, offering them a variety of entertainment opportunities which organizers hope will make their visit both interesting and comfortable.
The house will be divided into several sections. The expo zone is designed to help supporters learn more about the Olympic team, various disciplines, and competition rules, while the ‘Sport for Everyone’ area gives fans a chance to engage in sports with each other. A friendly competition for the title of ‘Most Prepared Team Supporter’ will also be taking place.
3D videos filmed by athletes will give fans the chance to know what it’s like to whizz down a ski slope or sled down an icy track at 90 mph.
But it’s the club area – where fans will enjoy live broadcasts of competitions, photo sessions with athletes, and celebrations of victories – that is expected to become the heart of the project. The area will be packed with daily events and activities, the project’s organizers said in a press release.
